Weaving_3x5x72This Saturday, March 23, I will be participating in a signing event for hometown authors at The Country Corner Gifts at North Park Pharmacy (327 Main Street, Owenton, Kentucky).

We’ll be there from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. If you’re in the neighborhood, I hope you’ll drop by.

I will be joining Georgia Green Stamper, whose second book Butter in the Morning is newly released from Wind Publications.

Branches of Georgia’s family have lived in Owen County for seven generations. Her essays have received the Emma Bell Miles Award for Essay from Lincoln Memorial University’s Mountain Heritage Literary Festival, the Carole Pettit Creative Writing Medallion and Legacies Award from the Carnegie Center, the Leadingham Prose Award from the Frankfort (KY) Arts Foundation, and from The Appalachian Writers Association and Green River Writers. Since 2004, she has written a bi-weekly column, “Georgia: On My Mind,” for The Owenton (KY) News-Herald.

PaddlingGwyn Hyman Rubio author of Icy Sparks, a New York Times bestseller & Oprah Book Club Selection, and The Woodsman’s Daughter says of Georgia’s writing:

Georgia Green Stamper is a wonderfully original writer. She is to Kentucky what Bailey White is to Georgia – unique in every way. Humorous, perceptive, and poignant, her essays are perfectly crafted gems illuminating those little moments in life that make it worth living, reminding us to appreciate the present before it quickly passes away. We are still smiling and mulling over her insights, long after we have read the last page.

And I’m looking forward to meeting Machele Coleman Bess, author of Unshaken Faith: A Parkinson’s Pocketbook from Tate Publishing.

Faith

When Machele Bess is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease her life becomes a little shaky. Coming from a Christian family, however, Machele has learned to have faith in God and continue to think positive.

Travel with Machele through her path to recovery in Unshaken Faith: a Parkinson’s Pocketbook as she exposes her struggles, but enlightens those diagnosed with Parkinson’s, those with loved ones suffering, or even those working to help a Parkinson’s patient.

I am also looking forward to seeing some old friends. Come on by.
